(CRI) An upcoming youth romance movie has recently gathered several young up-and-coming stars to Beijing for a promotional activity for 'Crying out in Love' or Zai Shi Jie Zhong Xin Hu Huan Ai (在世界中心呼唤爱) in Chinese.
Actress Wen Xin is among them. She portrays a special character in the film.
"I play opposite both the teen-age and adult-age versions of Fusheng. I think love in that era was very ambiguous and lovers exchanged their notes of love through writing to each other, which is in direct contrast to the more straightforward, modern approaches of communication both on Wechat and on the phone. Also a bike is an indispensable part of this movie, since in that era boys often traveled to their lovers by bike."
Adapted on the basis of Japanese author Kyoichi Katayama's best-selling romantic novel Socrates in Love, Crying out in Love is about the middle-aged protagonist who recalls his high-school affair with a classmate, who died of leukemia.
Veteran Chinese actor Yao Lu (姚橹) portrays Fusheng. But no detail about this character was disclosed until male lead Ou Oho described his relationship with Fusheng.
"Fusheng and I are good friends despite a great difference in age. He has a lot of memories about his previous romance. When I need advice, he would like to share it with me on his love experiences."
Oho Ou gets more widely known for a lead role in the 2015 box office hit The Left Ear, which is Taiwan actor, pop singer Alec Su's directorial debut.
He co-stars with young actress Zhang Huiwen in the movie, directed by South Korean veteran Kwak Jae-young who is hailed as "the godfather of youth romances".
Crying out in Love, a story about a first-love between two high school classmates, is scheduled to hit theatres around China on Friday, August 26th.
