Famous crime-thriller film director Cao Baoping's New film Cock and Bull, or "Zhui Xiong Zhe Ye"(追凶者也)in Chinese will hit theatres around China tomorrow.

Actor Liu Ye portrays Song Lao'er in the film. He revealed his efforts at the film's premiere recently held in Beijing.

"What's impressed me most is my first-day filming experience in which the director demanded I repeat 27 times to complete just one take."

The film starts with a robbery and then the murder of a motorist in a small town in western China.

The main suspect Song Lao'er, who doesn't trust the police to solve the case, works hard to hunt down the real criminal behind these crimes.

Liu Ye said his personality is similar to the role he portrayed.

"In real life, I may sometimes go overboard, which coincides with Song Lao'er's personality. Because he's a persistent person, he insisted on running after the criminal on his own."

Thanks to his role in Cock and Bull, Liu Ye has grabbed the Best Actor Award at this year's Shanghai International Film Festival.

The film also stars Zhang Yi, Duan Bowen and Wang Ziwen.

Director Cao Baoping's previous works include The Dead End, a film that enabled him to seize the Best Director Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival last year.
