(CRI) Taiwan singer/actor Jay Chou is now in Beijing to promote his new film "10,000 Miles," which is the star's first attempt at being behind the camera.
"Finding the right cast, including a director and the leads, was my main task on this film. I also worked as a script supervisor to ensure the adaptations for the film helped fit with the story. Being a producer for "10,000 Miles," as my maiden endeavor, I felt pretty good."
Jay Chou says he believes "10,000 Miles" can be a stepping-stone for him on a major Hollywood production.
"My ambition is to direct a Hollywood film which I also star in the main role. Right now I'm waiting for something in Hollywood that I can be proud to put my name on."
"10,000 Miles" stars Taiwan model-actress Megan Lai, along with actors Sean Huang and Darren Wang.
The film has already been out in Taiwan.
A mainland release date has not been set.
