(Toggle) Pregnancy rumours surrounding Ella Chen have recently surface after a series of happenings.
She recently went on a trip to Italy with her husband of four years, Alvin Lai, and updated her Facebook account with many pictures of the pair on the road. In them, netizens noticed that she opted for sneakers and loose clothing for the entirety of her trip, with some wondering if her wardrobe choices are influenced by her suspected bun in the oven.
Moreover, industry insiders have revealed that the 35-year-old was in talks to become the ambassador of an alcoholic beverage but suddenly pulled out of negotiations. This has further fueled the pregnancy speculations, as some have pointed out that the mother of a young baby will not make an appropriate choice for such ads.
In response to the speculations, her label HIM International Music shared, “We thank everyone for their concern, but we have not received any news of a pregnancy and (Ella) is continuing with her day-to-day schedules. We will make an announcement if we have any good news to share.”
Ella’s ambiguous statement to these reports have also left many guessing what she really means. She mused, “I’ll give birth when the time is right.”
Some have pointed out that she might be waiting for the three-month mark to pass before announcing the news, with traditional Chinese beliefs stating that it is bad luck to do so during the first trimester.
